Our Story
RCSCC Vanguard was created in 1958, the same year as the opening of HMCS York's current stone frigate on Lake Shore Blvd. W. It was a combination of 3 other downtown units, RCSCC Ark Royal, RCSCC Haida, and a previously absorbed unit, RCSCC Temeraire.
It has since delivered the sea cadet program to countless youth in Toronto specializing in leadership skills through the lens of the nautical military training.

We thrive to provide opportunities for Toronto's young people to develop the necessary skills to be successful leaders. We maintain a relevant and robust training program that focuses on elements of citizenship, leadership and fitness through a military and nautical lens providing cadets with a familiarization with things like sailing, rope work, precision drill, military music and the Royal Canadian Navy.
