VANGEN 25-38 SWIMEX (16 Dec 25)[In Person]

Instead of meeting at HMCS York for regular training, Cadets will participate in a Swimming Exercise (SWIMEX) instead.


Where: St. Lawrence Recreation Centre, 230 The Esplanade, Toronto, ON M5A 4M8

When: 1900 to 2100

Date: 16 Dec 25

Dress: Appropriate swimwear, Civilian Clothes to change in and out of.


All Cadets should bring a towel to dry off with, and any shower flip-flops required.


Applicable permit conditions:

  1. Pool users will adhere to all pool regulations as well as other rules and regulations posted such as but not limited to:

    1. Food or glass is not allowed in the pool or deck area (food permitted only in designated areas).

    2. No videotaping/photo taking of participants outside of your permit group (adherence to the Videotaping/Photography Policy)

  2. The Admittance and Wristband Policy

  3. Participants may be required to successfully complete a facility swim test to enter the deep end. If unable to successfully complete the facility swim test, they must remain in the shallow end.

  4. All must wear a wristband if given to them by staff. The wristbands identify the participants' swim level.


During the SWIMEX, Cadets are encouraged to attempt an 'Abandon Ship Drill' by jumping in the water with a hand closing the nostrils, the other arm crossed over, and the legs crossed as they enter the water. Submissions to 18sea@cadets.gc.ca also accepted in any accepted format. Requirements to pass PO X04:

Phase I/II: Submit Tracking Sheet.

Phase III: Submit tracking sheet showing 16 days of over 60 minutes of fitness.

Phase IV: Submit tracking sheet showing 20 days over 60 minutes of fitness.


Music:

Next training day is 7 Dec. The training will be from 0900 to 1200 at HMCS York.
